TYMOTHY SMITH
has been in the Early Care and Education field for more than 18
years. He started in an after-school program and has been a
kindergarten teacher, Assistant Director, Director, and is
currently a Multi-Site Supervisor. Tym has taken many programs
through NAEYC accreditation and also served as a NAEYC
Validator. Tym received his degree in Early Care and Education
from East Texas Baptist University. But most important, he is
the proud father of two children.

STANLEY SANTIRE
is managing principal of
the Santire Law Firm based in Houston, Texas and represents
clients in a wide range of business issues with an emphasis on
labor and employment issues. In addition to his law practice, he
co-edits the Labor and Employment Newsletter of the State Bar of
Texas and is on faculty at Texas A&M University. Stanley has
addressed audiences throughout the United States, including
lectures at various universities. He is author of several
published professional papers.

KAREN SHIPMAN
BROCKHOFF has enjoyed thirty plus years experience
working in all areas of the child care industry and has also
served as secretary for the local chapter of TLCCA. She was a
successful Director for ten years before recently becoming a
consultant and trainer for The Child Care Consulting Group. Her
training seminars are fun and informative and, because her heart
remains in the classroom, she volunteers as a Sunday School
teacher to keep her skills sharp. Her mission is to share her
expertise to empower child care teachers with the skills they
need to be the best they can be for the young children entrusted
to them every day.
